My MacBook battery seems to be running down quickly when used online. Is this normal or do batteries deteriorate with age? It is a model 1.1, Intel Core Duo, 1.8 GHz. Must be about six years old but low usage.
you can try this, run it all the way down to nothing. shut down and remove it. leave your mac for a while (overnight is good) then put the battery in, plug in and leave it to charge fully before you use it. like a few hours. this can reset the battery conditioning and management circuits, and give your battery a boost. but six years is almost a world record.!!
