Website Updates!

Avatar Chris Willis
We've just launched some updates to the website, we hope you like them and find them useful.

- New home page with meeting map and photos - click on the flags to jump to information about the specific venues. Click the photos for enlarged versions, we'll be adding new photos as they come in from each area.
- Contact page - replaces the about page, lists the committee with a photo and email link for each.
- Venues page - Photos for each venue (more coming, some may not match at the moment as we don't have enough for each venue). The area representative is also shown with their photo and email link.
- Meeting blog has been renamed to Meeting notes.

We've also launched a brand new feature, the WAMUG chatroom, here you can chat live to other members on the website. You enter the chatroom in the public room where all members can see messages, you can also send privates messages to a specific member by click the envelope icon next to their name in the user list on the right (hover over to see it).

Note: Some photos may not have large versions as we await new ones.

Any questions or problems, don't hesitate to ask.

Chris,

Really nice changes there.

However I still am unable to add my own Avatar, also I am seeing other peoples pictures on the web site when I am not logged in.

I've corrected both the avatar uploads and them showing you're not logged in.

One of the reasons for upgrading the website is to encourage people to visit and join the groups, so I think that the avatars for section organisers should be visible to the non logged in user. This would help the new visitor to recognise the organiser - although it is the organiser's responsiblity to search out and greet newcomers to the meeting as well as setting out the cables, chairs, projectors etc etc.

The avatars on the venues page are now showing, it was a regression of disabling them for the public on the discussions.

The new website looks splendid. I just clicked on its bookmark to enter a members sub and behold it was there. Excellent job Chris
