Securing just one folder

Avatar Mark Ford
Does anyone know if its possible to encrypt just one or two folders in OS10.4.10?

FileVault seems only to encrypt the whole of my Home Folder and that, for me, is very considerable overkill
.
I have a small app [Pastor] that encrypts passwords & so on in a format that it determines but I have a few Pages & Numbers documents I would also like to make secure.

One solution would be to create a "sparseimage" using Disk Utility. You can apply 128 bit encryption to the image, which then requires a password to mount the disk image. This could be stored in your keychain if required, or alternately, enter a password when you want to mount it!

Perfect - thanks Terry,
It took me a while to work out what was going on but I got there in the end and it suits my purpose perfectly!
