MacBook Pro Battery

Avatar John Marriott
My machine now 5 years old and the battery is starting to discharge after only a couple of hours. I guess I need a new one (battery that is).
Has anyone had any experience of fitting these and how difficult are they to fit?
Apple are currently asking £101, there must be cheaper ones about with the same quality, anyone suggest a reliable source?

At five years old, surely the battery just has two release buttons and it lifts out? Mine's 2007 and that's how mine works. I bought a battery from (I think) here:

Play.com

but if you search for MacBook Pro batteries, you'll find lots of places. Your battery will have a number on it (mine was A1175) which will help track down an exact replacement.

Thanks for that Mick, will now try and remove my battery to identify the serial number and contact your supplier.

Try globalbatteries.com. I bought a spare battery for my camera from there and it has worked well for a few years now. They sell batteries for all sorts of devices including MacBooks.
