I use this app a lot ( Get iplayer Automator ) it has been a cracking little tool to use and was recommended to us by a member in here but can't remember who. As of a couple of weeks ago it suddenly stopped working and I can't find any news of if others have been having the same problem. It's a freeware app but it is such a little gem that I would have gladly of bought it. Has anyone else experienced this break ....and if so any ideas how I could try to get it to work again.
If it is similar to iPlayer downloader and some other iPlayer related applications, there is a whiff of piracy about them and the BBC gets touchy and tweaks iPlayer so that they no longer work. Usually, after a bit, the developers of the applications tweak them also and they work again. These applications usually allow you to download a programme and keep it for as long as you wish, which unfortunately is against the BBCs terms of use.
I resent the BBC having such 'terms of use'; who the hell do they think they are? When we've all paid a small fortune for a TV licence what gives these greeby dastards the right to do that to us? I too had this problem with iPlayer Automator. The BBC thieves keep on changing things in order to swindle us and the author of the app has to keep upgrading it to beat them. Trouble is he no longer does this for the PowerPC chip machines. My daughter's intel chip MacBook can use the updated app with no trouble. p.s. Although the app is free I think he asks for a donation to cancer research.
Thanks very much for that Doug ..thats an excellent piece of info for me to work on. And thanks too Eric I will be donating as soon as I get it up and running.

Now how strange is that ! since you last posted last week Doug I had still had error messages ,,,but I missed this app so much that I decided to invest a bit of time into trying to figure out what it was ....and actually your info that yours was working was the most important part of the puzzle .....because that meant that it must be in my settings. And so it was ....go to the preferences and look for the Download Path .....my path had got corrupted so I reset it to my desktop .....so the pathway now reads .........Users/ThomasMaude/Desktop
just tried it now after using it for the last few days without any problems ........and....... it is giving a bad proxy error message !! well at least we know that it is a change in the proxy settings by the beeb .....hmmm have to wait a few days for the player to catch up with that ......last time I think it took two days and then it was fixed .....fingers crossed
