iPod Sync

Avatar Graham Caves
Hello folks,

I am trying to sync some photos from my iMac to my iPod via iTunes.

However I get the following message:

The IPod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.

If anyone can help to solve this problem any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Graham

If you make a new album in iPhoto called Pics for iPhone and put all the photos you want to sync in there. Then connect your iPod and start iTunes when the iPod shows in the left hand column click on it then look along the top for photos click on that and the find the folder you created, click the box next to it then go up and click on selected albums and that should work

Thanks Doug,

Before I saw your reply I decided to restore my iPod via iTunes so that solved it as well.

One interesting thing happened. Before restore the battery charge indicator on iPod would go flat fairly quickly - within one day even but after restore it lasts much longer so two questions for you please.

1 Was I right to do a restore

2 Why should a restore appear to improve battery life?

You can't be "wrong" to do a restore. All that will happen is you will lose any data you put on the iPod since the last backup i.e. the one you're restoring from.

Unless there was a glitch in the OS software you had on it which the restore has fixed, my guess is that you have an OS update waiting to be installed. Apple have tried to address battery life issues in recent updates.

PS - any chance of adding your picture?

Sometimes this issue is due to a corrupted sync folder in iPhoto or Aperture or wherever you sync you photos from. It is easy to fix - just delete the required sync folder and a new one will be made on the next sync. Details can be found here:

Hope that helps...

... and occasionally the OS of mobile devices can loose track of the battery management files that they keep deep in the os which keeps track of that stuff. A shutdown and Restart after about 5 minutes will also cause a re establishment of battery indications.
