Mac G5 (PowerPC)

Avatar Andrew Banks
A friend of mine has just acquired a Power Mac G5 on ebay, and I am in the processes of setting this up, I was wondering if anyone know what the latest version of iTunes is that will be supported by Power PC macs. Currently he is running Tiger, but we plan to get hold of a retail version of Leopard. If anyone has a copy that they may wish to sell then I may be interested.

I have also found the answer to my question above regarding iTunes. I found the answer on WikiPedia, the last version that supported the universal binaries was iTunes version 9.2.1, in my view the best version of iTunes, even better than 10.0

I have posted the answer here so every one else can benefit.

Hi Andrew, I do have a shop bought copy of OSX Leopard version 10.5 that I did not use in the end.
If you would like it you are welcome to have it.

Brian Thanks very much, I intend to go to the Salisbury branch of the WAMUG meeting this week, and possible introduce my friend to the club. I am a member in the Fareham section. If you are going to this meeting then maybe you could bring it along, otherwise I will send you my contact details. My friend who has just joined the Mac community, this weekend lives in Amesbury and that not far from Salisbury.

Once again many thanks, I will be interested in the version.

Kind regards
Andrew Banks
