Mail Version 4.5

Avatar John Marriott
I have a little problem with Mail and my iPod Touch (2nd gen.) Whilst away from my home I can both send and receive mail. However, when I try to send mail from my iPod touch at home I get a message to say that 'cannot send mail user name or password is incorrect'. Of course they are not. Now for the major problem. If I now go to my iMac or MacBook I find that the dreaded 'triangle' is present in Mail and I get the same message again plus a message telling me that there is a problem with my mail server.
However, if I go to Safari I can both send and receive mail in the normal way.
Mail in OSX locks me out for the rest of the day. if I return to the iMac or MacBook after about 24 hours mail returns on both machines an we are back to normal. As a control-test I then send a message from my iPod Touch and mail now locks me out once again and I have to wait until the following day to access mail again!
Has anyone any idea why this happens?

Very weird!
A problem with your ISP?
Is there a problem with your MacBook or iMac away from home?

Hi mark
No, MacBook is fine so is the iPod. I have been in touch with Mick, after my post he rang me and we have been trying to resolve the problem. It would appear that my ISP will not let more than 1 machine access my Mail at the same time. There seems to be a conflict but luckily Mick came up with a solution and I now know how to get Mail back on line.

Should we take this as a warning about your ISP? Is that talk21 - BT?
