and to think that I gave away a copy of Leopard to a relly in Oz the other day along with the combo update CD to help him out as he is on a G5 Mac Pro. I will need to get a few bottles of Grange Hermitage from him.

Stunts like this one by Apple are an encouragement for illicit trade in old Mac OSX DVDs

He could just have bought Snow Leopard for £30, as several of the comments rightly point out....but that wouldn't be as good a story, would it?

TUAW offers this on Apple's response and the Guardian's article.

Poor old Grauniad. Years ago a certain metal pipe- (Falcon?) smoking journalist used to have a stranglehold with endless pro-Windows articles. Since then the paper has been accused of being utterly dedicated to all things Apple.

Seems the world's magnetic field has a hotspot close to the Grauniad offices and is about to reverse again. No doubt the journalists are due for a bit of Rapture.
