iOS4 installation and existing photos -- CNET

Avatar Euan Williams
CNET reports this afternoon:

"A number of people who have upgraded their iPhones to iOS 4 have found that previously stored pictures will appear grainy, as if a lower-quality version is being used. This seems to affect only pictures that were on the phone before updating; new pictures taken with the phone or uploaded to it seem fine."

the discussion and possible solutions are here:

I have updated to iOS 4 and have not found a problem on the photos on my iPhone

Updating my second generation iPod Touch has slowed it down somewhat.
I greatly appreciate the consolidated email inbox and the message threading.

As I collect free apps like a snotty schoolboy collecting conkers I am pleased I can now bunch several together and hide my acquisitiveness.

Is the anyway to get message threading with Mail in OSX? I have missed something I feel sure.

Mark - do you mean OSX not the iPod? If so, just customise your toolbar by adding the threading icon. Doubt it's available on the iPod

Wow - thanks Mick! That is really useful.
Missed that altogether - how long has it been possible I wonder?
It will take some getting used to as it seems to thread by Subject line only - so a recent exchange with the Subject 'hiya' has picked up an email from 2009 with the same Subject. As I can turn it off or on I can live with that.
The iPod Touch [and I guess the iPhone] does have something similar that arrived with the iOS4 update - but it is not easy to toggle on/off.
The nearest on-line MobileMe Mail seems to get is by organising folders with Rules.
