Unfortunately the i-pad has had its UK launch delayed until the end of May due to an overwhelming demand in the states. ...nothing to do with any glitches relating to the wi-fi connectivity!
Also, they are releasing the price on the 10th May, so no need to keep checking Apples website until then.
At the AGM of the Cinema Theatre Association in Eastbourne last weekend, I met up with one of the members from Scotland. Knowing he is an Apple fanatic, I asked if he had an iPad on order. With that, out of his bag he produced 'the product'. He had one sent over from the States three days after it was released.
First impressions were: 'I want one'. Swiftly followed by: Look at those finger marks. The screen does mark up very badly. But, it is a fantastic bit of kit. it's very light, slightly smaller than I had imagined and once the 'creatives' start exploiting its features, I think Apple will be on to another winner. But those finger marks are a problem.
Perhaps all those after-market suppliers of skins and cases for Apple products should turn their attention to producing gloves for the users instead. After all, Apple managed to make it fashionable to have white bits of wire hanging out of your ears, so turning people on to funky fingerwear should be easy. And, as a Reynauds sufferer, I have a ready-made excuse for buying a pair!
opticlear already make an anti-glare screen protector which was on the i-pad that i used. It didnt interfere with the responsiveness and it was relatively finger print free. ...especially considering there were a million greasy grubby palms pawing all over it! ...and yes, my palms were one of the greasiest and grubbiest!
