I find it very easy, if slow, to put photos and videos onto this gallery but I cannot work out how to delete items, be it single photos from an album, a whole album or a video. Can anyone advise, or point me to a website or a text on how to handle all this? The ever cheerful Mac tutorial video is as irritating as ever and gives a very limited amount of instruction.
Easy Peasy Alan!
Open iPhoto
Select album in the MobileMe Gallery [down the left hand side] from which you wish to delete something;
After some twirling the set of pics will display in the right hand part of iPhoto;
Right click [ctrl click] on the offending item;
Drop down the menu that opens up and select 'Delete from Album'.
Poof! after a little twirling its gone!
To delete a whole Album:
Right click on it in the narrow left hand part of iPhoto;
Select 'Delete Album'.
Thanks Mark. You should get employment writing clear and succinct Manuals. Now a further challenge (actually two). One, can you tell me how to delete a movie (how I hate that word) from the Gallery when you cannot find the original? Two, how do you get to your Gallery if you don't know the URL? Don't let these questions ruin your Easter weekend!
Goto Mobile Me Logon Page

Logon
Then select the iDisk icon - fifth from the left hand side
Then select the Sites item and this will show you all the web sites you have loaded - you can then detect which ones you want to delete.
If you go into the Web item and then Sites you can see the various Galleries of images you may have uploaded.
Thank you for the guidance, Derek. I have now been able to remove the offending movie which was a silly 2 second clip that got into the Gallery by mistake. I suspect I am causing my set up some confusion by using two Macs (Mac and MBP) to upload stuff to the same Gallery (ie. same MobileMe – daft name – account). Also I still prefer the 'old' iMovie HD but occasionally use iMovie 'O8 but it still baffles me from time to time. Anyway, I now feel more able to use the Gallery and fiddle around with it!
As part of my quest to achieve eternal jobness <g> I discovered the iDisk (actually because I have lifted my download upload limit with the ISP so I can be more free with the data transfer quantities)
If you go in Finder into the iDisk, you will see the folder structure of the iDisk - you can then use Finder actions to manage the content of the iDisk as well as upload and downloading. This avoids the use of the Web Browser and logging on the iDisk via the Web Browser
