Playing Video clips on iPod Touch

Avatar John Marriott
I have just taken a video clip from my camera and imported it to iTunes. I have then tried to put this video clip onto the iPod touch.
After syncing and selecting the apply button I get a message telling me that the movie was not synced because my iPod touch cannot play the movie,(the movie is in quick time).
Could any one tell me where I am going wrong?
Thanks
John Marriott

I have had variable results doing this too. Importing the video clip into iMovie and exporting it to iTunes from there fixed it for me - don't know why though!

If you have a copy of Toast 10 that will do the job

I had the same problem and Toast worked for me too.

iMovie will export different versions for you, depending upon the intended destination. Export a version that is suitable for the iPod touch.

First import your movie into iMovie, and make a project out of it. Then select the project, and go to the Share menu. Choose Share - Export Movie. Click the button for Mobile when it asks you what Size to export. Export to iTunes (or your desktop and then drag into iTunes), and then sync the movie to you iPod touch.

Hope this is useful. I am sure that there are other ways to do it, too...

Thanks everyone
Don't have a copy of Toast but have now found a solution that works for me.
Import video to iTunes
Connect the iPod to iMac and of course iTunes will open.
Click on iPod icon on the left hand side of iTunes.
Go to Summary and select MANUALLY manage Music, Videos.
Drag and drop your video clip onto the iPod icon
The video clip now plays on the iPod. From what I can see the clip has been formatted into Mpeg4!
