This story is starting to do the rounds and was mentioned at the Dorchester meeting this evening.

Data losses in Snow Leopard bug?

But before we all start panicking, Apple have said in a statement that the problem "occurs only in extremely rare cases" and that it was working on a fix. Guess 10.6.2 will be on its way soon!

If you wish, you can disable Guest access by going to: System Preferences > Users > Guest Account and then un-ticking the "Allow guests to log into this computer" box.
