Just a starter for discussion:

Announced this week: Light Peak was shown running on a Mac Pro motherboard and OSX. This is a "unified" single cable interface which may in part replace USB3 and Firewire flavours. Some say it might even surface in an Apple late 2010...

Now look here Euan, our Snow Leopard upgrade is already on hold pending replacement of our venerable G4 iMac; The iMac purchase is on hold on the basis that there should be a new model out sometime soon; And it seems a shame to buy one with iLife 09 this late in the year. If I now have to wait for a whole new I/O standard. . . . .

Now if we are talking cutting edge technology. how long will it be before we have a macbook pro with a protein based infinite channel processor?
