Wacom Graphics Tablet

Avatar Roy Rainford
I have recently installed a Wacom tablet (Bamboo model) & whilst most features seem ok there are some aspects not as expected. eg. handwriting recognition not working in Mail. Just wonder if any member(s) have similar experience to exchange?

One of my Salisbury members has Mail using her signature from a Wacom tablet but do you mean you're supposed to be able to write and it recognises the letters and turns them into typed text?

"write and it recognises the letters and turns them into typed text?"
That's supposed to be a feature but it doesn't work too well. It sometimes recognizes my writing in Pages but usually doesn't & never in Mail. However I didn't buy it for that & don't feel inclined to use handwriting recognition. I would like to be able to draw things with the 'pen', including words, without them turning into typed text. This would be useful for writing/drawing on some images/documents/maps etc. Perhaps your Salisbury member has the answer?

A little more info: I can use the tablet in Photoshop with various brushes/pencil sizes but I don't seem to have a means of 'doodling' or drawing in another program in spite of installing the software that came with the tablet.
I did manage to make my signature on something that popped up on the screen but can't get back to whatever program that was.

Latest info: I reinstalled the software & find that now works! Problem solved & will continue learning how to use the pen.
