Safari

Can anyone throw some light on an annoying problem with Safari. When using my MacBook Pro (wireless mode) I am unable to quit Safari from the menu. If I wish to quit I must go to finder and force quit.
Furthermore there are times when safari will not respond to request for search. My iMac when connected to the same router by wire works perfectly.

I don't think it will help John but when you say you cannot quit, do you mean clicking on quit has no effect or that the quit option is greyed out? What happens if you try to quit from the dock icon menu?

Hello Mick
When I click on quit it has no effect and I cannot quit from the dock icon menu. My only means is to use force quit. The strange thing is that it only happens on my laptop when I am on wireless!!

I can't see that the method of connection should have any bearing, but have you tried connecting the laptop by ethernet? Does it fail to quit every time or just sometimes?

Hi Mick
Had tried connecting to ethernet - it was just the same. It failed to quit sometimes. However I tried to quit last night and a message from the ISP informed me that there was a systems error at Yahoo and to try again later.
Today everything seems fine Mick.
Will keep you informed, thanks.
