iWeb, iWeb Gallery, Quick Time Player and the 'dark side'

I have been experimenting with the iWeb Gallery and have asked members of my family if they can view the video material I am posting. Sadly, they all use the OS that so many of the plebs use (otherwise they are quite a nice family) so that they cannot view the exciting material I have offered them.I fear that this may be a problem with video clips posted on iWeb pages (am i right about this?). I think the problems arise because they do not have Quick Time Player and seem reluctant to download it fearing some sort of terminal infection. Has anyone any comments (constructive preferably) and suggestions. These Apple applications are a bit useless if 95% of computer users cannot see their output or will not make the plunge required.

The only requirement would be for them to download Apple's Quicktime, as you mention. It is free, and as we all know it does not "infect" PC's...! Sadly, misunderstanding is the culprit here.

I have had the same problem. The Web Galleries are really cool - if you can see them! My relations (also quite nice really) also need to update their browser. It seems that when they try to access some of the new iWeb functions the get a pop-up telling them to update the browser [or get Firefox or Safari] and to get Quicktime. When they do all is well.
I had a look in Dorchester Library but they have an old version of IE and no Quicktime on the public machines. It was still possible to 'scrub' through the Galleries & videos do play but within the browser.
The whole site seems to be slow even on the best machines - there is a suggestion around that dotMac is particularly slow in Europe.
