Recovering AoL Files

Avatar Steve Weatherly-Barton
I moved the Hard Disc on our retired Power Mac G3 into our G4 to function as a slave drive (and I was rather pleased with myself for doing it successfully!!!). The main reason was so my wife could complete some work she has been doing in an old version of Quark XPress which won't run in OS X. We had AoL loaded on the G3. We are escaping from AoL but are keeping it going for a short overlap period. We find now though that all our e-mail files, including our old Address Book, seem to be empty - nothing will open up. This is not a disaster - we've notified all our contacts about our new ISP and adresses - but it would be useful to access some of the old stuff if it can be done.

Anyone know where it might have disappeared to? Is it because Classic can't open this stuff (it just occurs to me it was probably originally an OS 8 version of AoL). I'm not losing sleep over this, but you guys/gals are so good at sorting out our questions I thought I'd give it a try!!

Can't help much with this one. Dropped AOL yearssssss ago! However, from what I recal it was an online system, nothing is stored locally. You should be able to sign on and see any files or emails still...!?
