For what it's worth Derek, I don't think you're missing anything. What does 9 do that you can't do in 8? The one feature I thought would be worthwhile is Mail Merge in Pages but it can only handle data from Numbers and unless you're using Numbers as a primitive database you're stuck. Apple haven't allowed you to use CSV or TAB output from say Filemaker (I wonder who owns Filemaker!) and if you try to put CSV or TAB files into Numbers for a lengthy workround, it screws up the formatting so your merge makes no sense!
