I decided to update to Monterey and when it got to the point of installation I let it get on with that and wen to watch some TV. An hour or so later I was about to return to my computer to check that all was well when all the lights went out, we had a power cut. Living in a rural area this is not unusual but at this moment rather worrying. As there was nothing more to do about it we went to bed. Fortunately the update must have completed before the power cut as when I checked the next morning Monterey started up as expected. A tense few moments.
