There are security updates available from Apple as of 24th September. These are for both Catalina and Mojave.

The Catalina update seems fine (I have installed it here) but, according to Howard Oakley, the Mojave one has problems.

If you're still on Mojave, I suggest you wait a few days before installing the update: Apple may well pull it and release a "better" version.

Bother! Just installed it yesterday. No problems yet so I'll keep my fingers crossed until the next version comes out!

I'm now being offered Supplemental Update 10.14.6. The description seems to relate to some of the issues raised in relation to the dodgy security update so presumably is the first step in undoing whatever wrongs were inflicted?
