Installing o/s Catalina

I downloaded Catalina yesterday and it got as far as installing but then 'hung' - I've never had to use the H word since moving to Mac over 10 years ago!

My MacBook Pro is an 'early 15' which is supposed to be compatible and I was upgrading from o/s Mojave. Is there anybody who has had this problem and knows the remedy?

My workaround is to use my wife's MacBook and my iPad, not a long term solution.

Yes, thanks chaps, all sorted now. I'm just not used to such problems these days. Also, I think Apple are nudging us towards the concept of an entertainment center.
