SD Cards

Avatar John Surtees
After a recent holiday, I was downloading our pics and found that a the pics on a Sandisk 1Gig SD Ultra II card were not seen by iPhoto at first. On checking, I found that there were two folders of pics. This is the first time we have used this card. Has anybody else tried an Ultra II ?

At the third attempt, iPhoto recognised that there were 295 pics on the card and all was well. But it is a concern that it took three attempts to get the card recognised as having pics present.

The camera is a Panasonic FX55. and we are using iPhoto 5.

May not be relevant John but these cards evolve faster than we can keep up with!

I have an old card reader which is neat, small and works well. At least it did until I bought myself a new card which it wouldn't read. I discovered it would only read the technology available "in its day" i.e. nothing bigger than 256MB! I recently purchased a secondhand camera which would not read the nice big/fast card I bought with it, but a firmware update from Canon solved that. So I'm no longer surprised if existing equipment or software can't keep pace.
