My Trash contains an image which is locked. This appears to be stopping me emptying it. A message comes up saying " Press the Option key when emptying the Trash". However the "Empty Trash" line is grey under the Finder.
I can't open the Trash because of the locked image. Any suggestions please on how I can empty the Trash & remove the locked image. (It came from a PC friend!).
Take the image out of the trash, then Get Info on it. Uncheck the 'Locked' checkbox in the 'General' section, throw it back in he trash and then empty.
Many thanks for the helpful replies. All is back to normal this morning after I shut down the MacBook (Intel) overnight.
I don't know why I couldn't open the trash yesterday (see above) but this morning I was able to drag out the locked files & unlock them as Chris suggested above. After replacing them in the trash it could then be emptied. Thanks again.
