Constantly updating GoogleEarth. How do I stop it!

Avatar Mark Ford
GoogleEarth 4.3 is buggy on a Mac and I use 4.2.
Every now and again I find that 4.2 has been updated to 4.3 in the background.
I have thrown away something called Google Updater which I thought might cause the problem but that seems to have been too obvious as it still happens.
I have to demonstrate a use of the dratted app but don't want to find myself with the buggy version and inviting a "typical Mac" type comment!
I have looked around the various Google forums but got lost.
I have 2 questions:
How can I stop it happening?
If I can't stop it happening can I hide the app somewhere the updating process can't find?

I am running 4.3 and don't seem to have any problems with it but it doesn't update its self automatically

Hi Doug,
It's 4.2 that keeps updating to 4.3 for me.
In 4.3 the .kmz files that I make are the problem [or, rather GE's reaction to them] I will send you one and would be interested to know how it behaves. For me marker pins appear in the right place, the title and descriptive text appear but the first pin one opens is the only one that shows its picture. All the rest show grey squares.
