Laptop batteries

Avatar John Surtees
Has anyone ever used <www.thebookyard.com>? They are a Liverpool based outfit that sell new and used parts for Apple laptops.

They are the UK outlet for Newer replacement laptop batteries. Averaging around £10 cheaper than the Apple genuine article, but boasting better performance. Is it true, I wonder?

For a 12" Powerbook. Apple at £89. Newer at £78. Then there is Student Computers at £59 <www.studentcomputers.co.uk> - I'd like to know the background to their battery supplier.

All damned silly prices when I saw somewhere that these so-called hitech units are only six rechargable AA units in a fancy casing.

Anybody got any views?

Have you tried Global batteries at http://www.global-batteries.co.uk/

Batteries for apple laptops seem to be around the £45 mark

Thanks Lionel, Excellent service. Just been delivered. Cost £46.94 plus £4 p&p. Ordered on 11th delivered on 18th.

Looks exactly like the original, even down to the little plastic foot and the charging button and indicator lights.

Reckon the saving on that deal alone has paid for a couple of years WAG's membership.
