Powerpoint Music

Avatar Roy Rainford
A slide show file recently arrived as an attachment via email. The file has a suffix of pps & double clicking opened it in Powerpoint. I am able to view the slides but can't get the associated music to play. I was impressed by the images & forwarded the attachment to friends using PCs who tell me they can listen to the music.
Can anyone tell me please if there is some way of getting to the music on my iMac G5?
Sound output is on when playing music CDs & I can't see anything in Powerpoint preferences to adjust.

If the sound file is a WMA inside the powerpoint file then it will not play on a Mac.

Isn't Google wonderful! ;-)

As a side note, be aware, Powerpoint files are now a bigger vector for malware/viruses than Word these days.

Unless you trust the _creator_ (not just the sender) of the Powerpoint file I would not pass it on to anyone using a PC.
Although it is still highly unlikely opening these files will affect you running on a Mac, I wouldn't open it if it came from unknown creators just in case.

Many thanks Martin. Interesting & useful links. The first one shows that others have experienced the same problem & the second link certainly is a warning that I/we must be very aware.
