App Store updates

The App store icon in my dock showed no indication of any updates. However I was aware that updates were available for Pages, Keynote & Numbers. Therefore I would have expected my dock to indicate 3 but it did not.

So, I went to the App store and indeed the 3 updates, that I expected to see, then appeared, and I have downloaded these satisfactorily.

Now my dock shows 1 (more ?) update available but the App store says there are none.

Am I confused...... Something like this happened some weeks ago, i.e. a mismatch between the App Store Dock Icon and the App store itself.

How do I get rid of the misleading numeral from the dock icon ??

For the avoidance of doubt, I have only one Apple device, and do not use the Cloud.
