All of a sudden I have found that I can't open disc images any more. I double click or right click them but nothing happens. Has anyone any ideas as to what might be wrong
I couldn't open any download that was a disc image it just hi lighted and did nothing. I restarted in safe mode and the restarted again and all seems to be working now
If a file that should open won't open, it's always worth checking its settings (these things get mysteriously changed sometimes, never by absent minded users of course!)
Select the file in the Finder, then 'Get Info' (File menu or Command-I). Last item but one is 'Open with' that tells you what application is set to open that particular file (and, usually, any file of that type). For a disk image (.dmg), look for DiskImageMounter (who would have guessed :-) ).
