WiFi Printer not connecting

Avatar Roy Rainford
I printed two documents this morning but the printing failed on the next one. The printer icon on the desktop 'bounces' then says "Printer not connected" - searching for printer. The network signal is strong on the iMac and on the printer, which is an Epson Stylus Photo PX720WD. The router shows four green lights. Any ideas?

It's now working. Haven't adjusted anything. Strange but not complaining!

Roy, You didn't say which version of OS X you're on. I have had a number of wireless problems (WiFi and Bluetooth) with both Yosemite and El Capitan. These greatly improved with the release of 10.11.4 so I'd recommend that update if it's relevant. Otherwise, there is indeed merit in wires though that didn't actually alleviate my Airplay problems (I think something fundamental was broken in OS X's comms for at least some Macs). Oh, and check for your other half using the microwave oven - they can be great jammers!

I'm just hoping that 10.11.5 doesn't spoil the party...

Am on 10.11.4 Tony and 99% of the time things are working these days. I have too many 'wires' on and under the desktop iMac. The WiFi lost connection above is an isolated incident so I prefer to stay wireless.
