Having seen somewhere that Epson have been naughty boys with their cartridges, and have been slapped on the wrist by 'Europe', can anyone recommend a USB 1 inkjet (for OS 9) for which cartridges I shall not be ripped off?
Eric, we would need to know the main usage of the printer before making a suggestion. eg. Colour Photo quality output or mono documents or something between?
Photo printing is my main usage & experience so I will leave this to a text specialist to answer.
I can say that I have used Epson Photo printers for about 15 years & have been quite satisfied, provided that I used Epson cartridges. I did try cheaper alternatives once but never again after they blocked the nozzles!
It also depends where you buy the cartridges of course. Inkraider (http://www.inkraider.co.uk/) sell manufacturers own brand at very reasonable prices, and I've been very satisfied with the service they offeer.
Thank you for all your advice, Gentlemen, I've just got an iP4500 which works fine. Not, however, on Classic, (which is rubbish as far as PageMaker is concerned). See my next question.........
