DVD problem

Avatar Eric Jervis
How can I produce a DVD on which every clip is selectable i.e. while you are watching one clip you can press 'next' on your remote?

Eric,

I think you need to insert Chapter Markers for a DVD player (not a computer) to understand the 'next scene'. This means that you'd have to create the disc in DVD Video format, not just write a set of video files to it. This is supported by iDVD (which I last used several years ago but it just launched for me on El Capitan, can't say whether it still works completely though) and I'm sure things like Toast would also be able to produce it.

As a side-effect, all of your video will be transcoded to PAL SD format (in 4:3 or 16:9) if it isn't that already. The DVD I referred to above included some fairly ambitious menu backgrounds too and took several hours to render (it was ready in the morning).

Thanks Tony, I've never used iDVD but I've just had a quick look at Toast and it looks promising; I'll do a few experiments today and let you know.
