Batch Change in'Photos'

Avatar John Surtees
Has anybody found a way of doing a Batch Change for several pics in ‘Photos’, when wanting to give a title etc. This was possible in ‘iPhoto’ but appears to be missing in ‘Photos’.

Hi John

Had an email last month from an American company, Take Control - they are offering decent discounts on what are already inexpensive publications - inexpensive probably because you have to do the printing! Anyway let me know if you decide to splash out $7, and if so whether the guide in this link was helpful. The gist of their email is below, as well as at the end of their email.

Last month, we published an early-bird version of Jason Snell’s “Photos for Mac: A Take Control Crash Course” to help those testing the public beta. The beta period didn’t last long, and everyone can now upgrade to OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite and the 1.0 release of Photos. In between speaking at several conferences, Jason has been working hard on his manuscript, and we’re pleased to bring you the full book now. It normally costs $10, but the 30% MUG discount drops that to $7. Learn more about the book and buy it via the coupon-loaded link below.

This is a feature promised in OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) which is due in the autumn (and free).

If you can't wait, you could try the script offered here (Apple forums but not official, looks like it only does what it claims to do and no nasty extras). I haven't tried it personally.

Michael & Tony. Thanks for the responses.

Michael, thanks for the info, I downloaded the Photos crash course (£5.38). Didn’t realise there was such a thing as a MUG discount with Take Control ebooks, which is annoying, as I already have five of their other titles. Ho Hum, still excellent value though.

Tony. Thanks. I had a look at the Script and it looks like it would do the job, but I’ve never gotten into Apple Scripts, so for the time being, I think I might wait for El Capitan.
