Having made several new appointments in iCal on my Mac I wanted to sync my iPhone & iPad.
The iPhone showed in iTunes and synced everything. The iPad didn't sync the appointments. Not quite sure how to achieve this across all three devices now.
hi Michael, If I book a tee time at golf club online, email is received confirming with a cal attachment which when opened opens ical, I'm then given options to add to home calendar etc., once added this entry then syncs over home wifi to my iPhone & iPad calendars!

I think setting iCloud as your sync source will have affected the iTunes sync. It's probably changed the source of the calendar info to iCloud so you'll need to change it back to iTunes.
I can see no way in the version of iTunes (11.4) that I am running under Snow Leopard that will allow me to switch syncing from iCloud back to iTunes. It seems that there is a problem with syncing from Snow Leopard - there's a lot on the web about it and not much in the way of solutions. I have downloaded one suggestion and will be trying that.
I have been told that you can sync calendars via Google in a similar way to iCloud. I've never tried it but it may play better with older versions of the apps (I presume you can't update your Mac OS version). You may be looking for a calDav server.
