Dead External Lacie Drive - It lives!

Avatar Eleanor Spenceley
My 120 Gb Lacie Drive died last week, the HardDrive itself could no longer spin up.

Instead of throwing out the whole very well made and robust case, I thought I'd try replacing the drive.
I got myself a 320 GB drive from the same manufacturer (Western Digital) and installed it.

It works! :-)

I now have a 320 Gb Lacie drive with firewire connections for 1/2 the price of a new one.
I knew buying Lacie drives was a good idea... fingers crossed for the future use of this drive. ;-)

P.S. Doing your own hatchett job on your drives is your own responsibility.

Great idea. Interesting to hear that the drive was a Western Digital.
