E-mailing

Avatar Drew McFarlane
Hi all,

I have 4 e-mail accounts, a private one for friends and family, one for shopping and general use, a third for the fishing club and the fourth given to me by apple, i.e. [undisclosed email]. All accounts have been set up in Apple’s “Mail”

When I send an e-mail I have to choose from the “From” line, the default account is the gift from Apple that I cannot delete. To send an e-mail I highlight the account that I wish to use and press send.

It has just come to light that when the e-mail arrives at its destination it has been sent from a different account from the one selected. How do I stop this please.

I would be grateful for any help.

Drew

You can change the default account in Mail Preferences under Composing - "Send New Mail From" - Mail will send from this address unless you tell it otherwise.

I too have multiple accounts and choosing one always works. By all means wend me a mail ([undisclosed email]) from any of your addresses and I'll reply - you can see if it's been sent back to the address you chose to send from.

Hi Mick,

Apologies for lateness.

Thank you for your assistance re. changing the default setting in outgoing name preference, a success.

With regards to my other concern, I deleted all 3 mail accounts, reinstalled and tried them, one at a time, by e-mailing myself until I solved the problem. Unfortunately every time I restarted my computer the same problem occurred.

This has now been rectified, please don’t ask how I did it, I don’t know myself, it just corrected itself, similar as to how the problem began???

Yours aye,

Drew
