Mick took us through the various steps in trouble shooting a Mac. First don’t panic. As a first step shut down and reboot. If no change try disconnecting all accessories. Failing that Safe Boot/Safe Mode. This procedure is different on Apple Silicon and Intel chips but fully described on Apple help pages on the internet. The final step is try Recovery Mode, again all instructions are on the Internet. In Recovery mode, you can use Disc Utility to check and repair the Macs hard drive (you cannot use the Mac’s own version of Disc Utility to check its own hard drive). In Recovery Mode you can also reinstall the operating system.
