Three topics in the first half: David P highlighted a few of the latest features of IOS17.2. David M then showed what can be done using the Apple Home app and brought Meross smart plugs and a smart light bulb along to illustrate the devices that can be used. Very disappointing, it would seem that we need to await the next advance in AI before the system is capable of facilitating Mick's dog going out to the garden in the early hours of the morning without Mick having to get out of bed. David M then illustrated using Find My finding lost iPhones and any device to which an AirTag has been attached and to locate people who have agreed to be tracked. (So many marriages could have been saved by not requiring both parties to go round the dress shop together. An advertising feature which seems to have escaped Apple.)
A very lively 1:1 session followed addressing a wide variety of issues some of which required a deep understanding of the workings of Apple devices while others were less taxing but these examples only go to illustrate the truth of the statement: there is no such thing as a silly question. If something puzzles you then ask and hopefully someone will have the answer and get you a step nearer your goal whatever that may be.
