Mick ran through the the key features of the new iPhone 15, 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max concluding that most of the improvements would not really be noticeable for our typical uses and if needing to update an older phone it would be worth looking at the 14 or 13 still offered by Apple. Mick suggested the Pro models can almost be described as a Camera with a built in phone. The Max includes a 5 x telephoto lens. All the new iPhone 15 models main camera is 48MP. They also have USB C in place of Lightening with the Pro models having USB C3 for super high speed transfer.

Mick described a selection of features of the IOS 17 whilst suggesting the overall the update is more incremental.

David Moon gave a brief introduction to Sonoma, Mac OS 14, again suggesting that it is an incremental update. Similarly with the new Watch OS10. He also explained about the social media app Discord which has matured from a communication site for games player to cover a wider market with serious clients like BBC and the Rest is Politics. The site also includes a server offering AI design, David showing its efforts oaf drawing a Money Tree. David ended by recommending members to take a look at Substack where one can read articles by well known Journalists, Academics and Experts where they can write independently of an editorial board and without the limits imposed when writing for main stream media. He also used Substack to show how in Sonoma you can add a website to the Dock, via the Share menu.
