In the presence of nine members and one guest, Barry explained how he had modified his email to reduce the deluge of large numbers of mailings received subsequent to the mail listings of an organisation he belonged being obtained for commercial purposes. He made use of the sophisticated rule options in MacOS mail, most of which were not available to those working exclusively on iOS or iPadOS devices. The rules available via mail settings in iCloud are quite basic. He also used a DNS server that apparently made a dynamic linkage to his own IP address, thus giving access to a number of undesirable site blocking lists, and also permitting one the option to add domains to be blocked.
David then showed how he had been able to remove the background from the photo taken earlier and had discovered via an upload to Google Chrome that the mysterious object was actually something rarely found in this country, being a Malay Quail Trap. There were many phographs of such a trap on the internet of items identical to the one here in Salisbury.
Other matters dealt with included solving the issue a member had who used a Windows computer and had run out of space for photos on iCloud and another member who was not sure if there was an easy way to temporarily suspend Focus in order to deal with items needing attention.
