Ten members came to Warsash. This month's topic was favourite apps- whether for Mac, iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, what free or low cost software people use and would recommend. Much discourse was had, and we all learnt something useful. A full list follows. There was time to address Chris's issue where a (clone with SuperDuper) backup had failed and seemingly corrupted both hard drives. Practical help wasn't possible (the equipment wasn't at hand), but it did reinforce the need to have a reliable, fault-tolerant backup strategy.

Pixelmator Pro: Not the same power as AP, certainly for photo editing, but better in certain functions, easier for the beginner, and cheaper- currently £34.99 (Mac App Store). www.pixelmator.com

Find Any File: 'Search beyond the Spotlight' as its developer puts it. Not a replacement for Apple's built-in search engine, but a complement. It can find files Spotlight can't, and offers more ways to search for properties like file size or date range. https://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/
