Mick showed that the two devices to be synced are shown as left and right and you select which way you wish the selected files to be synced, left to right or right to left. A further option of bidirectional will sync whichever is the most recently updated file whether left or right. It will warn if it is being asked to sync and older version to a newer and you can write various rules e.g. don’t sync any file that has not been updated in say the last 3 months.

As files stored in iCloud are also duplicated in full on the Mac even iCloud files can be synced with another device. With reference to iCloud, Mick did suggest that for 79 pence per month for 50 GB of storage for most of us that should be sufficient giving automatic syncing.
David and Mick demonstrated a problem they both have with Keynote where they have added links in slides to jump to another specified slide. All works well until Keynote is played using Presenter Mode where the links fail and seem to jump randomly. After discussions with Apple, the immediate workaround is to use an IOS devices as a remote.
David showed a list of current Apple Continuity features and asked if any needed explaining. We looked at Universal Clipboard, Test Message Forwarding and not as part of Continuity, Apple Pay.
After the break, David gave a summary of his reading of the latest Apple hardware releases, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch 8 and the new Apple Watch Ultra for all those Ironman competitors amongst us!
