Barry has an office filling up with filing cabinets and when was then asked to act as an executor with an estate entailing a lot of documentation; how was he to avoid being overwhelmed by ever more paperwork? His investigations led to EverNote which along with all the note taking facilities you would expect can incorporate images, pdfs and a number of different formats with an excellent filing system an easy search facility. Evernote runs on both Mac and IOS devices. When you sign up to EverNote they give you an exclusive EverNote email address and you can forward any document to that address and in the subject you include @FolderX (EverNote use the term Stack which behave much like folders) and #TagY and the document is logged into your EverNote Database both on their cloud and on your computer, so not dependent on their cloud. Barry finds on emails alone the save, search and recall facility so much more useful than Apple’s own Mail app. EverNote includes very good OCR so you can take a photo of a paper document with your iPhone and it will be converted into a searchable pdf which you can email (file) with relevant Stack and Tag details. Barry has some reservations about the latest update and was aware that system would not appeal to everyone, but for him was a life save.
