Beaminster — Jul 4th 2017

A smaller than usual attendance of 12 was proof that on summer evenings it is sometimes more attractive to be out and about or having a barbecue!
There were two presentations - a very brief one by Michael, giving the case for using the keyboard instead of the cursor to carry out a number of actions on a Mac. The least known at Ctrl+T which will swap the letters on either side of the cursor to correct a typing error. There are large numbers of these combinations, some common to most applications (such as Cmd+S to Save, Cmd+P to Print, etc. ) all listed in the drop-down menus for each program, particularly in Apple’s programs. Microsoft Office on the other hand is very sparing with these, so that cursor and menu have to be used. And an old version of Adobe Photoshop was really prolific in its’ use - over 80!

Mick followed with a comprehensive presentation on sharing and storing photographs without taking too much space on iPad or iPhone. The answer lies in the iCloud! This was the same presentation that he made at Bournemouth on June 20th and has been more fully described in the Bournemouth Meeting Report.
