Was it because it was a lovely night, or in spite of it that 19 people came to the Café at Ann Day to hear Michael give a series of presentations? We may never know. Anyway, the main one was a Keynote on making a Keynote, showing the basic elements of the application on the Mac, and giving tips on how to go about creating a presentation – or demonstration. One use that not many people might have considered is to make your will on Keynote!

Wayne stepped forward bravely and tried to show how Keynotes can be made on an iPad, but the projector wouldn’t talk to his iPad and we had to do without that. However Michael has a set of notes on this which can be emailed to anyone interested.

The second part of the evenings’ show was a series of 4 mini-presentations, short items culled from OS X Daily which sends an email every day with one or two tips for both OSX and iOS. This week we were shown how to use a movie or video as a screensaver, how to remove a Time Machine disk, how to open Word documents without Microsoft Office, adding an image to a Contact’s record so that you can see who is phoning or texting you as well as their name, and making a video of your iPad/iPhone screen to play on a Mac – useful for getting or giving help.

After that (and only one person fell asleep!) it was time for the usual coffee and chat.

A very good evening.

There will be a meeting next month, but there won’t be one in August.
