Mick gave a very clear and comprehensive demonstration of just how easy it is to use iTunes for syncing between appliances. It is possible to select the quality of songs and so lessen the amount of space they take on an iPad or iPhone – very necessary if their is only a total of 16Gb available. He also gave a good method of selecting songs, photos, videos or indeed anything stored in iTunes to ensure that, as he said, you don’t download all 50,ooo of your songs or photos. This is done by making a playlist or other collection of selected items, which can then be removed and replaced by others as you want.
Michael followed with a selection of 3 tips each for Macs running El Capitan and for iOS users , particularly featuring the new powers of Spotlight in, for example playing a tune direct, without using iTunes on the Mac, and, in Notes on the iPhone/iPad, how to draw within a Note. This was the first of a series of tips, taken from OS X Daily.
