Salisbury — May 31st 2016
Mick up first with an interesting and informative presentation on security.
telling us that Macs are quite secure the only thing Apple can’t control is the user at the keyboard.
He showed how to watch out for phishing by showing us some examples of how good criminals are at copying e-mail pages like the Apple official pages
What to watch out for by checking where it originated from by looking at the e-mail address that it is coming from and definitely not to answer by entering any of your details, especially any of your bank details and not letting what you think is suspect know that they have found someone there by clicking the Unsubscribe.
He showed us a website Gibson Shield that will check if it can get through the Router’s security, “shields-up” and it can check if there have been any incursions into your security.
After the break, Brian showed some features on iPad Notes, such as you can doodle small drawings and the text feature allowing you to dictate and have Notes and convert it into text including anything you say and the ability to have it speak back.
Using Notes to enter text for and e-mail to make sure you get it right and then copying and pasting into your e-mail.
Next meeting Barry Guyer will give a presentation “An easy way to design a Website”
Tuesday 28th June 2016, 7:30 - 9:30 pm at Tesco Extra Store Southampton Road Salisbury in the Community Space.
