Beaminster — Dec 2nd 2014
John Lemon gave us a presentation on Garageband to a very good meeting – 21 people came to hear him and it was not a wasted journey. John looked at this program on both the Mac and the iPad and guided us through what could have been a maze, given the huge capabilities and multiple avenues to explore that Garageband presents. He opened many doors to making our own music without dragging us too far into each doorway, but was able to give a review of what could be done even in the simplest way to create a complex musical piece with percussion and strings and piano. Consequently it was no surprise to hear people saying that they were going to try it out to see what they can do – and John announced a small competition to be held in two or three months time to see who could create the best musical piece – and there will be a prize!
Once again Robin served up his first class coffees and teas and there was a Christmas bonus of mince pies.
So thanks to John and to Robin for an excellent evening. We shall be meeting on January 6th when we will be looking at painting with the iPad – if Hockney can, we can!
