Salisbury — Sep 5th 2007

Wow! What a start! Twenty five people turned up for our first Salisbury meeting, so we didn't look lost in the South Wilts science lab after all. Five were existing members who'd travelled miles to add their support - thanks for that you guys, but it still meant there were twenty who could well become Salisbury regulars - plus I've had apology e-mails from two who couldn't make it but normally will, so I guess we have sufficient numbers to make this work.

Difficult to know where to pitch a demonstration when you don't know your audience, but I think that the Podcasting with GarageBand was pretty well received. Most people seemed to be fairly new to Mac so to start with at our next few meetings we'll be sticking to fairly basic stuff till everyone's up and running. We moved on to helping people with individual problems so I'm fairly sure that most people got something out of tonight. As two thirds of those who'd not already joined decided to join on the night, we must have got something right!

The next meeting will be on October 3rd - details of the programme will be circulated by email in the normal way.

A great first meeting, and again, different from all our other meeting venues, something I particularly like about the WAGs organisation. Thanks to Mick for setting the meeting up and congratulations on a successful start!

Thanks for making a new user feel welcome, so many freindly people to chat to. The garageband demo was very interesting a bit out of my league at the moment, but something to playm with in the future. Thanks for a good evening .

Excellent first meeting. I'd been to one of the WAMUG Bournemouth meetings a month earlier (my first one) and was pleased to see some members from that meeting at Salisbury to help things along.
